Why Choose an Amphibious Boat Hoist?

  • An amphibious boat hoist is a smart investment for marinas and boatyards because it delivers exceptional flexibility, efficiency, and capability on slipways. Designed to transport, launch, retrieve, and manoeuvre vessels in a wide range of environments, it helps maximise yard space, reduce handling times, and improve overall workflow.

At the same time, an amphibious boat hoist enables operators to expand high-value services such as haul-outs, maintenance, cleaning, dry storage, and vessel transport. This not only creates new revenue opportunities but also enhances customer convenience and satisfaction by providing faster, more versatile service. By improving vessel handling and reducing strain on marina facilities, amphibious hoists also help protect valuable infrastructure and support safer day-to-day operations.

  • An amphibious Boat Hoist offers significant infrastructure and operational advantages for marinas and boatyards, particularly where existing slipway facilities are already in place.

Many marinas and boatyards already possess established slipways that can be readily utilised by an amphibious hoist, avoiding the substantial capital expenditure associated with constructing dedicated finger pier lifting infrastructure. This allows operators to maximise the value of existing assets while introducing modern lifting capability without major redevelopment works.

In contrast, finger pier hoists typically require extensive fixed marine infrastructure, including piling, structural platforms, and ongoing over-water maintenance. These structures are continually exposed to corrosion, tidal forces, and marine wear, resulting in higher long-term inspection, repair, and maintenance costs.

A key advantage of the Amphibious Boat hoist specifically, is its versatility. The machine can operate effectively from both traditional slipways and finger pier arrangements, providing flexibility that fixed hoist systems cannot offer. This makes it an attractive long-term investment for marinas that currently operate slipway facilities but may wish to upgrade or expand their infrastructure to include finger piers in the future.

By supporting both operational environments, the amphibious hoist enables phased marina development without rendering existing infrastructure obsolete. It also provides greater adaptability to changing berth layouts, future expansion plans, and varying operational requirements, helping marinas maintain flexibility while controlling infrastructure costs.

Marine Grade Stainless Pipework
and Fittings

We can offer marine-grade stainless steel pipes and fittings, along with marine-grade galvanised pipe clamps, ensures long-term durability and reliability in harsh marine environments. These materials are specifically designed to resist corrosion from saltwater, moisture, and constant exposure to the elements, significantly reducing the risk of rust and degradation. This not only extends the lifespan of the machine but also lowers maintenance requirements and downtime. In addition, the strength and structural integrity of these components provide secure, dependable performance, even under demanding conditions, making them ideal for marine applications where reliability is critical.

Ultimate protection for the heart of the machine

A stainless steel–clad engine canopy offers superior durability and longevity compared to fibreglass or painted alternatives. Its robust construction provides excellent resistance to corrosion, impact, and harsh environmental conditions, making it especially well-suited for demanding or marine applications. Unlike painted surfaces, it won’t chip, peel, or require frequent refinishing, and it avoids the cracking or fading that can occur with fibreglass over time. The result is a low-maintenance, hard-wearing solution that retains its appearance and structural integrity, helping to reduce upkeep costs while ensuring long-term reliability.

High spec coating system

Our new superior paint system uses a proven three-coat solution for maximum protection and durability in harsh marine and offshore environments.

The undercoat is a surface-tolerant epoxy mastic that provides exceptional corrosion resistance and strong adhesion. It forms a durable, smooth base widely used on marine structures such as hulls, decks, and offshore steelwork.

The topcoat is a high-performance aliphatic acrylic polyurethane that delivers excellent gloss and colour retention, along with long-term weather and chemical resistance.

Together, this system provides outstanding corrosion protection, reduced maintenance, and a premium, long-lasting finish.

Move in any direction

Multi-mode steering is a very popular option delivering outstanding agility by offering multiple steering configurations for any situation. Crab steering lets the machine move sideways or diagonally for precise positioning, while carousel steering enables on-the-spot rotation in tight spaces. Two-wheel steering (front or rear) provides flexibility to turn from either end, and four-wheel coordinated steering ensures smooth turns with a tighter radius. Together, these modes allow precise, confident movement in any direction.

Onboard Diagnostics

WISE hoists are equipped with an advanced onboard diagnostics system designed to give operators full visibility and control over the machine’s electronic and hydraulic performance.

This system monitors all key electronic components and comes with a built-in remote interface as standard, allowing WISE engineers to diagnose—and in many cases resolve—issues remotely, reducing both downtime and service costs.

We understand that many customers are wary of overly complex electronics, often seen as a traditional point of failure. However, with the introduction of modern requirements such as Tier 5 engines, remote controls, and electronic weighing systems, a higher level of electrical integration is now essential.

Our diagnostics platform addresses this by providing clear, user-friendly instructions on-screen, while also enabling remote monitoring when and if the customer chooses.

In addition to electronics, the system also delivers valuable insight into the hydraulic performance of the hoist, helping to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues across all machine systems.
