Boat Hoists

WISE Boat Hoists
Smart lifting solutions for finger piers

Why Choose a Boat Hoist?

  • A boat hoist is a smart investment for marinas and boatyards because it boosts efficiency, expands services, and creates new revenue opportunities. By enabling quick lifting, storage, and maintenance of vessels, it helps maximise space, reduce congestion, and improve turnaround times. At the same time, it allows operators to offer high-value services like haul-outs, cleaning, and dry storage—enhancing customer satisfaction while protecting both boats and marina infrastructure.

  • A boat hoist operating on finger piers provides key handling and safety advantages over a slipway-based lift, particularly through its level lifting environment.

Unlike a slipway, which requires lifting on a slope, finger pier systems allow vessels to be hoisted on a flat, level plane, ensuring a more stable and controlled lift. This greatly improves load distribution reducing the risk of slippage, uneven loading, or vessel movement during hoisting.

In addition, the controlled lifting environment enhances operator confidence and reduces the likelihood of corrective adjustments mid-lift, supporting a smoother and safer overall handling process.

  • Choosing WISE Handling Ltd means investing in a hoist built for longevity, reliability, and real-world performance. Our machines are engineered to the highest standards, with many still in active service more than 50 years after installation—a testament to their durability and build quality. As a family-run British manufacturer, we take pride in delivering equipment that supports UK industry while maintaining a personal, customer-focused approach. Every hoist is designed, manufactured, and supported in the UK, ensuring consistent quality and dependable aftercare. At the same time, our global reach means we successfully supply and support customers worldwide, combining local expertise with international experience.

Marine Grade Stainless Pipework
and Fittings

We can offer marine-grade stainless steel pipes and fittings, along with marine-grade galvanised pipe clamps, ensures long-term durability and reliability in harsh marine environments. These materials are specifically designed to resist corrosion from saltwater, moisture, and constant exposure to the elements, significantly reducing the risk of rust and degradation. This not only extends the lifespan of the machine but also lowers maintenance requirements and downtime. In addition, the strength and structural integrity of these components provide secure, dependable performance, even under demanding conditions, making them ideal for marine applications where reliability is critical.

Ultimate protection for the heart of the machine

A stainless steel–clad engine canopy offers superior durability and longevity compared to fibreglass or painted alternatives. Its robust construction provides excellent resistance to corrosion, impact, and harsh environmental conditions, making it especially well-suited for demanding or marine applications. Unlike painted surfaces, it won’t chip, peel, or require frequent refinishing, and it avoids the cracking or fading that can occur with fibreglass over time. The result is a low-maintenance, hard-wearing solution that retains its appearance and structural integrity, helping to reduce upkeep costs while ensuring long-term reliability.

High Spec coating system

Our new superior paint system uses a proven two-coat solution for maximum protection and durability in harsh marine and offshore environments.

The undercoat is a surface-tolerant epoxy mastic that provides exceptional corrosion resistance and strong adhesion. It forms a durable, smooth base widely used on marine structures such as hulls, decks, and offshore steelwork.

The topcoat is a high-performance aliphatic acrylic polyurethane that delivers excellent gloss and colour retention, along with long-term weather and chemical resistance.

Together, this system provides outstanding corrosion protection, reduced maintenance, and a premium, long-lasting finish.

Move in any direction

Multi-mode steering is a very popular option delivering outstanding agility by offering multiple steering configurations for any situation. Crab steering lets the machine move sideways or diagonally for precise positioning, while carousel steering enables on-the-spot rotation in tight spaces. Two-wheel steering (front or rear) provides flexibility to turn from either end, and four-wheel coordinated steering ensures smooth turns with a tighter radius. Together, these modes allow precise, confident movement in any direction.

Onboard Diagnostics

WISE hoists are equipped with an advanced onboard diagnostics system designed to give operators full visibility and control over the machine’s electronic and hydraulic performance.

This system monitors all key electronic components and comes with a built-in remote interface as standard, allowing WISE engineers to diagnose—and in many cases resolve—issues remotely, reducing both downtime and service costs.

We understand that many customers are wary of overly complex electronics, often seen as a traditional point of failure. However, with the introduction of modern requirements such as Tier 5 engines, remote controls, and electronic weighing systems, a higher level of electrical integration is now essential.

Our diagnostics platform addresses this by providing clear, user-friendly instructions on-screen, while also enabling remote monitoring when and if the customer chooses.

In addition to electronics, the system also delivers valuable insight into the hydraulic performance of the hoist, helping to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues across all machine systems.
